Fuck Crypto: A manifesto
I beg you to not buy this coin, but to read this instead.
When crypto investors were asked what key values they are looking for on cryptocurrencies, investment opportunity took place number one with more than 87% of votes. While Bitcoin is rightfully on its all time high, more and more altcoins serving no real world purpose flood the market. And with pump.fun, everybody can create his own degenerative memecoin for gambling and scamming other people. These coins do not even host their own blockchain. And while it is nice to see young people having fun exploring cryptocurrencies, most of them do not understand what it means, where it comes from and why it was created in the first place. Satoshi Nakamoto would turn in his grave if he saw what his invention has lead to.
I am kidding, of course. But with all that fun and the greed for money and wealth, we should not forget those who have it worse than us. We are throwing away amounts of money that other people work a whole month for to feed their families. And I am not better than you in any way, writing this from my warm and cozy home in a first world country. The next time you are thinking about making a purchase on pump.fun or you are cashing out your lucky winnings, have those in mind who are not as lucky as you. Who are not as privileged as you. Who may get food for the next month, if you decide to donate a small portion of your wealth.
Lets not forget that we are all winners in the lottery of life.
